Many of my clients ask me for purse organizing hacks that are stress-free, to make their lives easier.
How organized are the contents in your purse?
Do you find yourself looking for your car keys in your purse and then realize you left them at home?

Do you ever go to a store to make a return and find you don’t have the receipt in your purse?
No one needs this frustration or chaos.
Here are some simple hacks to make sure you have what you need and when you need it in your purse.
If you designate a place for every item, you’ll be able to find each one very quickly. Let’s visit the basic categories of stuff you might carry in your purse.

Typical Purse Contents
- Wallet (cash and/or cards)
- Make-up and/or sun screen
- Keys (such as home, office; car)
- Sales receipts
- Tissues
- Masks
- Hand sanitizer
- Gum, coupons and/or lotto tickets
- Pen, paper and/or small notebook, and/or agenda
- Cell phone
I recommend going through the contents of your purse and decluttering your handbag at the end of each week, or whenever you change your purse for the day. Set aside a few minutes of uninterrupted time to sort through the contents. Throw out garbage, replace used items, and check the amount of cash in your wallet.
For your sales receipts, put them aside to place them in a defined location where you’ll use them to cross reference the purchases displayed on your online or print bank and credit card statements. Once you see they match, go ahead and shred them, except for those receipts that are business-related, a gifted-item, or those personal expenses that will be included on your income tax return, such as medical and dental receipts.
Also, keep the receipts for products that come with a warranty. A great time to register product warranties, in writing or online, is as soon as you bring the item home from the store. File the receipts with the manual and product warranty for quick retrieval.
My Purse Tip
No one likes to be seen rummaging through their purse frantically looking for something. You always want to be putting your best foot forward and avoiding unnecessary stress.
In order to quickly have your hand on anything in your purse, use a few small holders in your purse; one card holder for loyalty, credit, and bank cards, and one wallet with a couple of pockets to hold cash and receipts. It helps to keep your purse organized so you can find what you’re looking for quickly. Decluttering your handbag may take some time, but these simple purse organizing hacks will make your life easier.
