The major event that so many children look forward to….the trick or treat for all that candy, all in one night! I used to love Halloween as a young girl, then with my own child, I sewed costumes for her most every year….that was great fun. Many adults still have their stuff stored in their parent’s basement for convenience…ours. Typically, this will only get sorted once the parent decides to move, or renovate…as was the case for me.

In most homes I’ve worked in to help clients downsize, I’ve faced mountains of suitcases, duffle bags, sports bags, jewelry cases, and then more suitcases. Did I say suitcases? Many were stained, musty, rusted at the hinge and lock, and looked very dated…
One of the fastest ways to feel in control of ” your clutter” is to get the recycling out of the home!
How many plastic lids, cans or unwashed bottles do you have ready to go into the recycle bin….but only once they’re rinsed?
“What’s for dinner? “
Not a fun question when there is no fast answer and it is about 5:30 PM-ish or later. While a grilled cheese sandwich and bowl of soup can work in a pinch, it isn’t the most satisfying option on a dinner menu.
Small Budget Decorating
If you want to decorate on a tight budget or just want to be super frugal….then I have some suggestions for you.
Focus on a uniform color theme, second hand furniture, and keeping your place neat & clean & tidy.
Where to Put my Stuff?
Regarding tips to prevent losing your stuff, ideally you’d have a place for everything in your home….try to keep things in the same place….room by room….surface by surface
Check your purse or bag and pack it in advance of going out (not last minute)….be sure to have everything you need….and leave the rest
